Safety of our guests is our prime concern. In order to comply with current legislation and the Management of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 etc, this document is designed to try and identify any perceivable hazards that may arise in respect to the above activity. It is worth nothing that nothing in this document compromises our normally daily operations that we currently undertake on the park.

These assessments are designed to be a dynamic document and are to be referred to during the entirety. This document may be added to or have items amended or deleted at the discretion of the author. For this reason, please read the declaration on the bottom of this document for further information. If any additional risks are identified when additional equipment arrives then these should also be noted on this document and signed by the authorised person(s).

The person named as responsible for ensuring that these assessments are completed and up to date is a Mr Ivan Williams of Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park. Overall responsibility on the day for the Health, Safety and Welfare of all persons directly or indirectly involved is Mr Ivan Williams who is the Operations and Maintenance Manager (also of Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park).

Individual ride or attraction assessments that may be used in the above named activity are not included in this document but can be produced on enquiry if notified in writing.

Item Description: Rides

Risk: Failure of Ride Machinery
Persons at risk: Members of the public, Staff employed at Pleasurewood Hills, Contractors.

Control: It has to be accepted that it is possible for rides to 'malfunction' whilst operating normally. Rides are inspected daily by on-site engineers employed by Pleasurewood Hills to ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, they are fit for in use service for members of the public. However, in the event of a ride shutdown, all systems will go into a safe mode of operation. In this event, to ensure the safety of all persons concerned, it is deemed necessary that all members of the public follow all directions that we give without fail. PWH will be totally responsible for any evacuation that is deemed necessary including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and instruction in use.

Rides are also inspected annually by an expert team of external engineers who are tasked by Pleasurewood Hills to conduct a thorough test of all rides and attractions on the site. This includes complete strip and test of parts using various methods from Fluorescent Dye Penetration to Ultrasonic Inspections. This company issue DOC's (Declaration of Operation Compliance) for every ride or attraction. These are valid for a period of no more than 14 months from the date of issue.

Risk: Stuck by a moving device
Persons at risk: Members of the public, Staff employed at Pleasurewood Hills, Contractors.

Control: It is deemed that all persons who attend the site are responsible for their own safety at all times. Our rides are all guarded as required by law and as such, persons who are not responsible for their own safety should be assigned a 'carer' who will ensure that they are supervised at all times during their visit. Persons deemed to be entering a restricted area will do so at their own risk.

Item Description: Power and electrical installations

Persons at risk: Members of the public, Staff employed at Pleasurewood Hills, Contractors.
Risk: Electric Shock/Fire
Control: If electrical installations are to be installed, competent persons must complete these. Any installations should be available to be inspected by our own on-site electricians to ensure there are no additional requirements for use on our site. All cable runs that are not installed below ground level must be protected from members of the public for exposure to electricity. Also it has to be noted that all cables above ground level must be covered with a suitable ramping material so as to not present a tripping hazard.

Item Description: Crowd Control

Persons at risk: Members of the public, Staff employed at Pleasurewood Hills, Contractors.
Risk: Crushing or pushing forward
Control: Due to the size of the Park, there is little or no risk associated with Crushing by any other persons. However, in the event of an emergency than this could be applied.

Note: We do have on PWH site a trained personnel in to First Aid at Work level.

Item Description: Emergency Evacuation

Persons at risk: Members of the public, Staff employed at Pleasurewood Hills, Contractors.
Control: In the event of the need to evacuate either part or all of the premises, sole responsibility will lay with PWH for the orderly and safe operation. All directions should be followed exactly.

These assessments are provided on the understanding that they are not to be disclosed to a third party without the express written consent of the author (Mr Ivan Williams).
